Missing Phone Numbers On Your PayPal Orders?

Comments (0)

A common problem that many merchants run into when they enable PayPal as a payment option is that some orders enter into BV Commerce without a phone number. This can be a problem if the merchant needs to contact the customer regarding their order.

The reason for this is that PayPal, by default, does not require customers to enter a phone number. Fortunately, it is possible to configure PayPal to require this. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your PayPal account at paypal.com.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Account Settings."
  3. Click on "Website Payments" in the menu to the left (near the bottom).
  4. Click on the "Update" button next to "Website Preferences."
  5. Under "Contact telephone number," select "On (required field)" to require your customers to enter a phone number (see screenshot below).
