I am trying to use the URL redirect function under admin/content/URL Redirects.
Here is what I have done:
1- Enabled "Enable Redirector" under Admin/Options/Site Settings/Redirector
2- Added existing, active URL that I wish to change the location of under "Requested URL".
(/Departments/The-Soap-Shop/yyy-yyy.aspx)
3- Added existing active URL that I wish the above URL to go to under "Redirect to URL".
(/Departments/The-Soap-Shop/xxx-xxx.aspx)
4- Set Status Code to 302 Temporary
5- Set Type to Category and Other with same results
6- Left System Data (bvin) blank
7- Tried both Evaluate as Regex and without.
8- Saved example and tested It refuses to redirect from one page to another.
9- Verified with hosting company (Appliedi) that Isapi_Rewrite is installed. They apparently use Helicon.
10- The problem is I cannot get this function to work no matter what settings I use. What am I missing?

(/Departments/The-Soap-Shop/yyy-yyy.aspx) I believe this step is where things are going awry. You cannot redirect an existing, active URL. You first need to change or delete that URL so the system is not using it. Once you've changed the URL you can then create a redirect for the old URL. It looks like this is a category URL so you would either edit the category and change (or enter) the new URL into the Rewrite URL field or delete the category. Then your redirect should work. |
