New error popped up for visitors using IE. On clicking the "checkout" button, "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" shows at the top. Under "More information",

It reads:

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

•Internet connectivity has been lost.
•The website is temporarily unavailable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
•There might be a typing error in the address.
•If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

1.Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

1.Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
2.Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

Yes, I know 3.2 is old stuff, but it has been bullet proof.

I need to know if this problem is fixable, and how?

From someone who knows, he sent me the following:

All ssl protocols have been disabled at this point in favor of TLS. In any
of the current browsers this isn't an issue because they no longer enable
the older ssl protocols. Supporting the old SSL will cause PCI to fail.

I'm losing sales to IE users. What do I do?

Thanks.

Ok looking at your site. Support for TLS 1.0 has been disabled.

Protocols
TLS 1.2 Yes
TLS 1.1 Yes
TLS 1.0 No
SSL 3 No
SSL 2 No

Disabling TLS 1.0 support affects all customers running IE version 10 and below. This will effectively cut off any customers using Windows XP (and they really shouldn't be, however many still do depending upon your customer demographic) and Windows 7 users who have not updated their browser.

You can verify the results buy using https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html and entering your website details.

Now re-enabling SSL 3 is a not a good idea in the slightest, however I would ask your host/server admin to re-enable TLS 1.0 support.

This will allow IE 8-11 to work with your website (which is the vast majority). If your host/admin is reluctant please point them to articles such as

http://blog.securitymetr...pci-3-1-ssl-and-tls.html

The above link outlines from April 15, 2015 on, merchants must not implement new technology that relies on SSL or early TLS (version 1.0 and sometimes 1.1, depending on use and implementation). Merchants already using systems and devices that utilize SSL and TLS must discontinue the use of those systems and devices before June 30, 2016.

Personally we are watching sites such as Amazon to see when they disable support for TLS 1.0. Once they have done so we will disable our TLS 1.0 support a month after unless they leave it right up until the June 30, 2016 deadline.

Thank you. I was hoping it was something dumb and simple. I'll get Noah on it.

Yes I did thank you. Noah at Resposio moved me to a server still using SSL1. My client base tllts more towards an older user that might not be off of XP or older versions of IE.
