- Ability to email a gift certificate to an address other than the purchaser's.
- Ability for customer to select either an e-gift certificate (as exists today), or a hard copy gift certificate that can be shipped to either purchaser or gift recipient.

- Ability for the recipient to check gift certificate balance on-line. Recipient should not need an account, just have gift cert number in-hand.

Thanks: 1 times
I would add to this:

1) Improved display of gift certificates used and balance on checkout page screen
2) Same on admin side receipt/order views

I second this:
- Ability for customer to select either an e-gift certificate (as exists today), or a hard copy gift certificate that can be shipped to either purchaser or gift recipient.

Additionally, the ability to manually input gift certificate code (so we could input the serial number code off of pre-printed gift cards)

Also, I forgot to mention that the ability to prevent gift certificates from being purchased with coupon codes would be great. Currently, a $10 gift certificate can be purchased for $9.00 if the customer uses a 10% off your order coupon...

I'm considering making Gift Certificate purchase a completely separate checkout process so that you can specify which shipping methods, payment methods, etc. are applicable for Gift Certificate purchases instead of normal items.
