Is there something I can do about the quotes that get added to the descriptions and meta's for both the products and the categories? I know the BV4 version had a checkbox to trim quotes... but I don't see it for the bvc5 version.

Hi Wanita,

Are you referring to the Flat File import / export tool? If you are, please be aware that editors like Excel will add control characters in each field, they will not display to you, but when the file is re-imported, they will show up on the store. Try performing an Export and making your modifications with a text editor like notepad, re-import and see if you have the same issue.

Thanks,
Everett

Good thinking. I didn't realize it was excel that was adding the quotes.

Everett,

We have done several migrations from BVC2004 to BV5 and the category descriptions, MetaDescriptions, MetaTitle all get quotes wrapped around them. Also anywhere there is a needed (it was there to begin with) quote like 3/4" you end up with 2 - 3/4""

The odd thing is it isn't global and we can't figure out why some do and some don't, but this isn't an excel thing. In the BVC2004 store there is no quotes, after migration to the BVC5 store they show up.

Hey Noah,

Would you mind opening a ticket? I would like to perform a test migration to one of my local stores to test this issue.

Thanks,
Everett
