When I create a rule to offer a 0% discount from site price on a product SKU for a price group, the overall price group rate (15% off site price) still ends up applying. I've also tried a fixed amount above cost rule for the same price group, but they are still receiving their discount.

Ultimately, we do not want this product to have any price reduction for anyone ordering on the front end of the website. How can we utilize the Price Group Rules to achieve this while still having the price group's discount apply to all other products on the website?

Assuming I'm understanding you correctly this should work and seems to on the demo store. Note that the rules are processed in order from top to bottom until a match is found.

We only have one rule that is being created to test this, and it is not working how we are using it.

If we have the Rule Type set to Product, what needs to be in the Match textbox? The final SKU, or something else?

The product SKU.

If the product has variants you may need to use a Regex like "SKU*" (no quotes), assuming the base portion of the SKU for all of the variants is identical.

We did this and the rule is still being disregarded, giving the overall Price Group discount rate instead. I even tried different rates/amounts for the rule to no avail. What's our next step to get this working?

Open a support ticket. That will allow us to more securely examine your site and setup. When you open the ticket please provide the name of your Price Group and the SKU of the product that you're trying to exclude.
