I would like to know if its possible to upgrade BVC2004 to SQL Server 2005. I am changing servers and would like to move the SQL Server as well. On the new server there is 2005 so wanted to find out if this is possible? Also if possible anyone have instructions or suggestions from having done this before? Thanks

The database will work as-is with SQL Server 2005. We have several BVC2004 sites running this way right now. As far as instructions on moving the database from SQL Server 2000 to 2005, I would Google it. |

This might get you started. http://searchsqlserver.techtarget.com/generic/0,295582,sid87_gci1188595,00.htmlNote that no two upgrades are identical...it depends on how you've setup & configured etc. Essentially, its a back up & restore process. We've been testing BV 5.5 on SQL Server 2008, if possible particularly with the recent releases of SQL 2008 SP1, I'd skip over 2005. Backup, backup, backup. John

Thanks guys. Got it to work. There was trick where I had to create the DB and set compatibility to SQL Server 200 before restoring the backup in SQL Server 2005.
