Having an issue with one of my client's sites. It started yesterday with a couple of orders. You can see from the screenshots that sometimes the order would include shipping, sometimes not. Or even shipping would be different on the top of the page vs the bottom.

A customer said
"It was kind of odd the first time, it did have the full amount on the screen initially, and it also did when I checked out via paypal, but after paypal sent me back to your website the shipping charge was gone. I checked my credit card statement and it was for the right amount, so I'm not sure what happened."

Look at the screenshots to see what I mean. I rebooted the server to see if that helps.

What version of BV Commerce is your client running, and which checkout are they using?

What do you mean by which checkout are they using?

In the admin go to Options >> Site Settings >> Orders and check the "Default Checkout" dropdown. Based on your screenshots it looks like you are still using the legacy "One Page Checkout", not the newer "One Page Checkout Plus".

So it seemed to correct the problem for a bit but now it is back. I just tried it myself. www.summitmaps.com The client had to cancel their black Friday sale.

The intermittent nature of the problem doesn't really fit with the problem being the specific checkout that you're using (One Page Checkout vs. One Page Checkout Plus). However, moving to the One Page Checkout Plus is a good starting point since it is the replacement for the One Page Checkout.

What might be happening, however, is that you're running into TLS 1.2 support issues. UPS started the transition their servers to requiring TLS 1.2 on September 1st and by December 31st all of their servers will only accept TLS1.2 connections. Only newer versions of BV Commerce (2017 and above) support TLS 1.2. Every third-party integration (e.g. PayPal, Authorize.Net, FedEx, USPS, etc) will require TLS 1.2 next year so this will become an even bigger problem soon.

There is, however, an unsupported workaround that we published back in April. You can read more about that here:
