Kman -- your page works - if you know what to look for -- I even missed the BIG CHECKOUT BUTTON added to the page and I was looking for something different. Perhaps if that were in place of the Add to Cart Button

Or an inline box perhaps that show cart contents. I just think for most shoppers they need something more kicking them in the face that it was added, like the pop-up or going to the cart page. The problem with going to the cart page is those folks who now want to go back to the same spot they were at, and it currently takes them back to the same category, first page, not even the page their last product was on. I tell customers who want to shop that way to use the Back and Refresh buttons to shop faster.

Joe, I used to show the cart contents on the page. Problem was large carts.
I do like staying on the same page though. With this site we get many customers that want to order one t-shirt in a few different sizes.
You actually missed that big 'banana' Checkout Now button eh. Hmm, have to think about that one a bit. Maybe flashing red... haha just kidding.

Kman, I can see how it might be possible to miss the banana because there's a lot of yellow going on already, and it even sort of drowns out the red text. You might experiment with a different color for the button instead of the same look as the Add To Cart. Arrow shaped, even, which is what I did on beertees.com (though it isn't on the product page). A red button would work if it fit the context of the design, but in this case it wouldn't, so a green button might be something to experiment with.

Separating it more from the space with it's own visual container might also help make it more bulletproof.

Or, yeah, just flashing red. ;)
